Karen is the abrs Defence Account Manager is an experienced recruiter of plus 14 years with a management background and industry knowledge focused in education and medical recruitment. Before transitioning for the last 4 years into community services recruitment she was a Senior Account Manager for the Australian Defence Force. She now specialise in recruiting psychologists, counsellors and social workers to work with defence members and their families across the country. She is also working with mental health clients located nationally to support the recruitment of psychologists and mental health clinicians for a variety of NFPs, private practices and specialist child trauma organisations.

About the Program:

Part of a national initiative, the program delivers recovery-focused, evidence-based support through three core teams.

Your Role:
  • Location: Braddon, Canberra (ACT)
  • Type: Permanent or part-time (minimum 3 days per week)
  • Salary: HPA Level 4 (based on experience) up to $130k plus super plus optional salary packaging
You’ll provide clinical leadership, support team development, and oversee complex cases—while contributing to training, research, and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor clinicians
  • Guide treatment planning and manage complex cases
  • Lead training and professional development
  • Promote recovery-focused care and family engagement
  • Support service improvement and clinical excellence
What You Bring:
  • AHPRA-registered Psychologist (with Clinical endorsement)
  • Extensive experience in youth mental health, including psychosis
  • Leadership, communication, and supervision skills
  • Passion for evidence-based practice and continuous improvement
  • Current Australian driver’s licence
