Your objective will be to understand the underlying causes of challenging behaviours and develop strategies that promote positive change, always upholding the individual's rights and dignity. You will lead and mentor a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners, fostering a positive team culture and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services.
This role will involve;
- Conduct comprehensive assessment activities, including functional behaviour analysis.
- Design and implement person-centred behaviour support plans that comply with NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Behaviour Support Framework.
- Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure best practice and adherence to NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission and NSW Restrictive Practice Authorisation regulations (including a neurodiversity-affirming / Anti-ABA framework).
- Understand, prescribe, report, and implement restrictive practices according to NDIS rules.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to the Behaviour Support Practitioner team.
- Lead clinical induction and onboarding for new team members.
- Provide training and education to staff.
- Maintain accurate participant files and contemporaneous progress notes.
- Support team members to reach or exceed billable targets and achieve your own individual billable target.
- Uphold the vision, mission, and values of the organisation.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy workplace.
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counselling, social sciences, or related health/disability studies.
- NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission BSP Accredited - Advanced (or above).
- Extensive understanding of the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework and restrictive practice rules.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive behaviour assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate behaviour support plans across the lifespan, including children.
- Behaviour support experience with children/young people.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead staff.
- A genuine passion to lead the team through active participation and engagement.
- Ability to work with the team in a positive and proactive way to achieve outstanding client results.
- Proficient time management and organisation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Several probity checks will be required
