Counselling Lead

Our client is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join a growing community-based service supporting individuals and families experiencing complex needs in Western Sydney!

This is an opportunity to provide visible, supportive and values-driven leadership within a service undergoing significant growth. You will lead a team of practitioners, providing operational oversight, workforce support, quality and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of practitioners to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred services
• Provide day-to-day operational oversight and ensure service delivery meets relevant standards
• Provide supervision, performance development and workforce support
• Support staff wellbeing within a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment
• Contribute to service development, continuous improvement and reporting
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Promote inclusive, culturally responsive and trauma-informed practice
• Work closely with managers and senior leaders during a period of service growth

About you

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology and membership of a relevant professional association, such as AASW, APS, PACFA or ACA
• Demonstrated team leadership experience, including supervision, performance management and team development
• Experience applying a broad range of therapeutic approaches with individuals, couples, families and/or young people
• Understanding and experience across co-morbidities, addictions and/or gambling counselling
• Current NSW Driver Licence
• Current Working with Children Check and ability to obtain required police checks and clearances
