Provide intake, assessment, referral, and safeguarding support to vulnerable adults within a NSW Government department.

  • Parramatta CBD with WFH flexibility
  • Full-time, 6-month engagement with flexible hours between 8am-5pm

abrs is currently partnering with a NSW Government department to recruit an experienced Helpline Consultant for a 6-month on-hire engagement based in Parramatta, with strong potential for permanency following the contract period. This role would suit candidates with skills in crisis response, communication and intake within child protection, aged care, disability or domestic violence.

This role will involve:

  • Split your day between phone-based intake and support work, administration, referrals, documentation, and team collaboration
  • Supporting vulnerable adults experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation, or crisis
  • Conducting risk assessments and gathering sensitive information via phone
  • Liaising with internal teams and external services to coordinate support pathways
  • Working within a trauma-informed and person-centred framework
The requirements for this role include:
  • Experience in crisis response, intake, safeguarding, within aged care, NDIS or child protection
  • Ability to receive and process sensitive information relating to abuse, neglect, and safeguarding concerns in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to manage sensitive and emotionally complex conversations
  • Confident with documentation, systems, and professional communication
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Additional Information:
  • $51.81 - 55.73+ super + salary packaging
  • 6-month full-time engagement
  • 35-hour work week with flexible hours between 8am - 5pm
  • Hybrid working arrangement – WFH 5 days per fortnight
  • Parramatta office location
