  • $45 ph + super + access salary packaging through abrs!
  • 3 month fixed-term engagement, 35 hours pw

Our client is a government agency that supports and protects vulnerable people across NSW by promoting dignity, rights, choice and autonomy. Services are delivered through a multidisciplinary approach, including guardianship, advocacy, financial management and future planning support, with a strong focus on person-centred practice and safeguarding individuals during critical life stages.

Role: Guardian
Duration:3 month fixed-term engagement
Pay rate: $45 ph + super + access salary packaging through abrs!
Working hours: 7 hours per day / 35 hours per week / Hybrid work arrangements
Location options: Parramatta and Newcastle

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct visits to represented individuals as part of the decision-making process, ensuring their views, will, and preferences are understood. Develop and implement decision-making plans, procedures, and activities to resolve issues effectively.
  • Provide information to the public and respond to inquiries from professional staff, service providers, and customers.
  • Make, implement, and monitor decisions within delegated authority to serve the best interests of individuals under guardianship, adhering to set legislative and procedural guidelines.
  • Undertake case-related actions and activities based on agreed action plans, under the guidance of a supervisor and the Manager.
  • Develop knowledge of local services and key support infrastructure while understanding regional demographics, socio-economic profiles, and community needs.
  • Ensure guardianship matters are monitored and addressed in accordance with individual guardianship orders, relevant policies, standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely communication with represented individuals, their families, and key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Requirements:
  • Degree in social, health, behavioural sciences or related discipline
  • Experience in case management (disability, aged care, mental health, child protection)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle workloads independently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven experience engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Essential Criteria:
  • Driver’s license is necessary for this position
  • Rights to Work in Australia
