Barnardos Australia is seeking a dedicated Casework Support to join our OOHC team in Wyong, 2259. This is a part-time, permanent opportunity to be part of a values-led organisation committed to making a real difference in the lives of children and families.

About the Role
As a Casework Support, you will:

• Support the Case Manager and Program Manager to complete administration of planning documents, such as writing up minutes or arranging meetings, completing collateral checks, attending visits alongside the Case Manager and reviewing material
• Planning, supervising and coaching parents and others in family time, and other interactions, to build parenting skills and capacity.
• Utilising the Barnardos case management resources and tools in all planning and documenting of interventions with children, families and carers.
• Provide carers with information and, where appropriate, 1:1 training or skill development to enhance and develop the caring relationship and skills.
• Attend and participate in meetings forums and group supervision relevant to clients or as directed by the Program Manager.

You’ll join a collaborative and supportive team delivering high-quality, trauma-informed services that uphold child safety, cultural safety, and family-led practice.

Skills and Experience :

• Certificate IV minimum in Community Services and/or other relevant/equivalent training
• Knowledge of child development and childhood developmental trauma.
• Knowledge of parenting support and capacity building.
• Knowledge in relation to methods of engagement with children, parents, stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience of working with children, young people and families in a community service, child protection or OOHC context.
• Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities, including a strong understanding of cultural safety, self-determination, and the historical and contemporary factors that impact Aboriginal peoples.

What’s on Offer:

• Base salary: $74,329 – $80,015 per annum (pro rata, if applicable) + 12% superannuation
• Salary packaging: Up to $15,860 tax-free (general living expenses)
• Meal & entertainment packaging: Additional $2,650 tax-free per FBT year
