Karen is the abrs Defence Account Manager is an experienced recruiter of plus 14 years with a management background and industry knowledge focused in education and medical recruitment. Before transitioning for the last 4 years into community services recruitment she was a Senior Account Manager for the Australian Defence Force. She now specialise in recruiting psychologists, counsellors and social workers to work with defence members and their families across the country. She is also working with mental health clients located nationally to support the recruitment of psychologists and mental health clinicians for a variety of NFPs, private practices and specialist child trauma organisations.

  • Guide and Empower: Help claimants secure new jobs through targeted assessments
  • Conduct detailed evaluations to identify claimants' goals and make them happen
  • Flexible work arrangements, 3-5 days per week contracts considered
Our client is on the lookout for a passionate Rehabilitation Consultant to join their team in Canberra (CBD) and specialise in Return to Work services within the CTP Insurance sector. This role focuses on empowering injured individuals to reclaim their independence and re-enter the workforce. You’ll play a transformative role in helping people secure meaningful employment with new employers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Earning Capacity Assessments and Transferable Skills Analyses to establish achievable vocational goals.
  • Organize and deliver Labour Market Analyses to support these assessments.
  • Provide vocational counseling to individuals navigating employment challenges.
  • Lead job placement activities in collaboration with the Employment Consultant Team to ace interviews and secure opportunities.
  • Develop creative strategies to overcome barriers to employment.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with stakeholders and provide regular updates.
  • Prepare accurate, high-quality reports on the services delivered.
What You’ll Need
  • Tertiary qualifications in Rehabilitation CounsellingPsychologyOccupational TherapyExercise PhysiologySpeech Pathology, or Physiotherapy.
  • Current AHPRA registration (Full or Provisional), ASORC Membership (Full or Associate), or ESSA registration.
  • Outstanding communication skills for building strong, lasting relationships.
  • A thorough understanding of WHS & EEO principles.
  • A valid Working with Children CheckNational Police Check Certificate, and a current driver’s license (with reliable transportation).
Bonus Skills
  • Familiarity with Workcare or CTP claims processes.
  • Experience working as a Rehabilitation Consultant in the Return to Work space.
